Do' s
- Wash hands with mild soap and dry them with a lint-free towel before handling and applying lenses
- Develop the habit of handling the same lens first to avoid confusing the right and left lenses
- Close the drain of the sink
- Use hair spray before applying lenses
- Apply make-up after the lenses are worn
- Remove lenses before removing make-up
- Replace eye make-up on a regular basis
- Keep solution bottles close when not in use
- Discard solutions if they have passed their expiration date
- Rinse the lens case with hot water daily and let it air dry
- Replace the lens case every three months
- Have a back-up pair of eyeglasses
- Have a back-up pair of contact lenses
- Follow your eye care practitioner’s instructions for the appropriate wearing time period
- Follow the cleaning and storing procedures as recommended by the solution manufacturer
- Return to your eye care practitioner for follow-up visits as recommended
- Remove the lenses if you experience redness, pain, swelling or irritation

Don' t s
- Rub the eyes when wearing lenses
- Use oil based eye make-up
- Use moisturizers prior to handling lenses since they can cause stinging and leave a film on the lenses
- Share eye make-up
- Use eyeliner on the inner eyelid margin
- Touch the tip of a lens care solution bottle to any surface, including your eye
- Top off solutions
- Use eye drops or solutions not intended for use with GP contact lenses
- Use tap water to clean your lenses
- Wear your lenses while swiming
- Wear your lenses to sleep unless prescribed by your eye care practitioner
